Recruiting Your Exams Officer

As a consequence of the National Agreement, your centre's exams officer is now more likely to be a member of centre support staff. If your centre chooses this route, the first step should be to consider whether any existing members of support staff have the right skills, or can be given access to relevant training. Where this is not the case, an external appointment will be necessary, with the appropriate procedures followed to ensure the right candidate is selected.

In either case, it is important to follow established good practice procedures when advertising, short-listing and making any appointment.
