Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) guidance for exam centres published

28 May 2007

In December 2006, the Disability Equality Duty came into force as part of the Disability Discrimination Act 2005. The DED affects the ways exam centres are required to interact with candidates. It places additional responsibility with schools and colleges to proactively take into account a candidate's disability, even where that involves treating a disabled candidate more favourably than others. The guidance explains how this affects exams office staff and what they need to do about it.
