Local authorities can now order one free copy of QCA optional tests materials for 2008.

The optional tests are used to assess pupils in years 3, 4, 5, 7 and 8 in English and mathematics.

Materials for this year are available from September 2007 and include:

• 2005/6 test materials for years 3, 4 and 5
• 2006/7 test materials for years 7 and 8 with new extended level coverage for 2008.
