Single Level Tests overview

This is where you can find all the information your school or local authority needs to prepare for and administer the single level tests (SLTs).

Single level tests are part of a wider pilot to trial ways to improve pupils' progress throughout key stages 2 and 3 and are available in English reading, English writing and mathematics.

In this section you can find a detailed explanation of the background and purpose of SLTs as well as a step by step guide to the SLT administration process.

There is information about the December 2007 tests and an explanation of the roles of the different bodies involved in the development, delivery and regulation of the tests.

We also have a useful FAQ section full of the answers our stakeholders most commonly look for.
