The DED came into force on 4 December 2006 and requires all public bodies to actively look at ways of ensuring that disabled people are treated equally under the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (DDA).
Part 4 of the Act applies specifically to schools and colleges. It requires them to ensure that their students with disabilities are always treated fairly and equally by developing and publishing a Disability Equality Scheme (DES) to demonstrate how they are meeting DED requirements.
The DED has implications for the exams office but do you know what they are? And how aware are you of the needs of candidates with disabilities?
Find out by testing your knowledge of the DED, DDA and good practice with our multiple choice quiz and see how you get on. There are 17 questions in total and, where appropriate, you can select more than one option as your answer.
You score two points for every correct and complete answer and one point where one answer has been selected (but both are correct).
